Central data platform in record time

No quod sanctus instructior ius, et intellegam interesset duo. Vix cu nibh gubergren dissentias. His velit veniam habemus ne. No doctus neglegentur vituperatoribus est, qui ad ipsum oratio. Ei duo dicant facilisi, qui at harum democritum consetetur.

Together with partners from the Network University Medicine (NUM) and the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII), HiGHmed was able to establish a central data platform for COVID-19 research in record time as part of the NUM-RDP (Routine Data Platform) project.

In November, another important milestone was reached:
All 34 university medical centres in Germany successfully connected to the central data platform and can now successfully transfer research data.

Even though the COVID-19 pandemic is currently on the wane, the central data platform can continue to contribute to the digital networking of university hospitals in the future. With the universal application of open standards such as openEHR and openSource solutions, the platform is flexibly expandable and can thus also be quickly used for research initiatives in other clinical subject areas.

This offers great potential for supporting the "expansion and extension phase" of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII), which begins in 2023. Through the resulting convergence of the two initiatives MII and NUM, forces can be bundled and redundant structures avoided.

We are very much looking forward to further successful years with our project partners and service providers who have supported and made this path possible!
