Since we first introduced openEHR to Germany in 2015, a great deal has happened. As part of the HiGHmed consortium, we’ve been developing high-quality, interoperable information models since 2016 – collaboratively, with a focus on quality assurance and practical relevance.
Some highlights of our work so far:
Establishment of the HiGHmed Clinical Knowledge Manager (CKM), a central repository for openEHR archetypes and templates to support collaborative modeling of clinical openEHR data structures
Introduction of a governance structure for quality assurance and reuse
Technical advancement through integration with a terminology server
Mapping openEHR to OMOP (a project with #Veratech) to enhance research usability
Development of an openEHR network to strengthen national and international collaboration
Hosting regular symposia to foster knowledge exchange and community building (#HiGHmedSymposium 2025)
With this new website, we’re bringing together all information about our models, methods, and applications in one place. Visitors will find everything related to:
our archetypes and templates in the CKM
real-world use cases
open-source tools and components
current training and networking opportunities
Our model base continues to grow – demonstrating: openEHR makes an impact – in research, clinical care, and education.
