After the successful completion of the formal application and review process, the Carl-Thiem-Klinikum (CTK) in Cottbus joined the HiGHmed consortium. As part of the "Strukturstärkungsgesetz Kohleregionen", the hospital will be expanded to a full university medicine location in the next years.
As a networking partner the CTK receives funding to lay the foundation for establishing a Medical Data Integration Center (MeDIC) according to the HiGHmed technology concept. This will enable the hospital to make medical patient data accessible for clinical research. Cottbus will also participate in the HiGHmed Use Case Cardiology and share its knowledge in using smart wearables to improve patient care.
