CAEHR Meeting in Würzburg

No quod sanctus instructior ius, et intellegam interesset duo. Vix cu nibh gubergren dissentias. His velit veniam habemus ne. No doctus neglegentur vituperatoribus est, qui ad ipsum oratio. Ei duo dicant facilisi, qui at harum democritum consetetur.
CAEHR Meeting in Würzburg

Yesterday over 40 project participants of the Digital Hub CAEHR came together in Würzburg. In front of the project sponsor DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V.) representatives of the three use cases and the work packages reported on the goals, status quo and challenges of their sub-projects.

Led by the two project coordinators Prof. Dr. Dagmar Krefting and Prof. Dr. Udo Bavendiek, CAEHR is a broad-based research project in which different disease patterns are examined in three use cases https://www.highmed.org/en/caehr-use-cases under different scientific questions by various partners. The aim is to improve the care of patients with cardiovascular diseases.

The speakers placed particular emphasis on presenting their key performance indicators. These are the parameters defined in advance that are used to measure the effective success of the sub-projects within the framework of the evaluation.

CAEHR is a complex project because it should bring real added value to several target groups at the same time:

  • Patients benefit from fast, individualised treatment decisions thanks to digital data availability.
  • Medical staff gain valuable time in their demanding daily routine by eliminating manual documentation.
  • The scientists will use the data to continuously analyse the care processes, conduct clinical studies or also investigate health economic aspects, which will benefit general health care.

These added values can be realised if the ethical, legal and social framework is established. With regard to the technical aspects, there is agreement that CAEHR does not need to reinvent the wheel. Rather, the aim is to avoid "island solutions" and parallel developments in topics such as standards and interoperability through continuous market analyses.

Appropriately, the coordinators concluded by noting that the increased networking among the use cases brings real added value, as existing synergies can be used. With the impressive momentum within the work packages, the next joint meeting is eagerly awaited.

Many thanks to the hosts at the University Hospital Würzburg: Prof. Dr. Peter Heuschmann, Julia Schmidt and Anna-Lena Hofmann
