First and foremost, a huge thank you to everyone involved for the intensive exchange, constructive discussions, and strong engagement across all participating sites. The in-person meeting in Berlin once again highlighted how valuable direct personal dialogue is for advancing the project.
While the first patients are already being enrolled in the PCOR-MII project, the consortium also used the meeting to plan the cross-site “First 50 Patients” initiative. As a proof-of-concept study, it will incorporate the entire PCOR-MII infrastructure, including initial cohort analyses. The goal is to take a closer look at the first 50 patients from each participating Data Integration Center (DIC) — totaling at least 600 patients — by October. More details will follow soon!
The meeting once again demonstrated the tremendous potential of collaborative work: By building on the established infrastructures of the Medical Informatics Initiative, the PCOR-MII team is taking the collection and integration of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) to a new level. This structured, cross-site approach lays the foundation for systematically capturing routine clinical data, making it accessible for research, and enabling a more patient-centered approach to medicine.
With this momentum, the PCOR-MII team is looking ahead with confidence: The next two years of the project offer tremendous opportunities to further expand the insights gained so far and translate sustainable innovations into clinical practice.
The entire team is looking forward to the next steps within the consortium!
