Exciting insights from the workshop on "Patient Reported Outcome Measures" (PROMs) at the premises of the TMF Technologie- und Methodenplattform für die vernetzte medizinische Forschung e. V. in Berlin!

After the welcome by Prof Dr Matthias Rose and Prof Dr Fabian Prasser, Dr Zofia Das-Gupta presented the work of the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM), which sets global standards for PROMs.

This was followed by insights into the pitfalls and solutions in the application of PROMs. Amongst others Prof Dr Rüdiger Pryss from the University Hospital of Würzburg presented the "Track your Tinnitus" application. Prof Dr Thorsten Schlomm presented the example of the Martini Clinic.

The role of PROMs in the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) was also discussed by Prof Dr Matthias Rose and Prof Dr Fabian Prasser. In the course of this, Mr Rose presented the PCOR-MII project, which works together with the ACRIBiS use case presented by Prof Dr Heuschmann, and Dr Linda Gräßel gave exciting insights into the PM4Onco use case.

We would like to thank all the other speakers for their interesting contributions:
Maud van Muilekom on PROMs at Amsterdam UMC
Tanja Stamm about H2O
Prof Sylvia Thun and Nina Haffer on the AG IOP
Felix Fischer on the integration of PROMS, Common Metrics
Christoph Jansen about pro|M|space

Many thanks also go to the programme director Alizé A. Rogge.

Workshops like these are crucial for the future of medical research and help to focus even more strongly on the patient perspective. We look forward to further dialogues and close collaboration.
