Introducing HIVEconnect – Smarter, More Open, Better.

What started as FHIRBridge has now evolved into something much more powerful.
HIVEconnect is a complete redesign – built from the ground up by HiGHmed e.V. to connect FHIR and openEHR seamlessly.
We did this together with our great partners from Medblocks. Now available as an open-source tool for the openEHR community.

What is the HIVEconnect?

A software solution that acts as a broker, simplifying data exchange between FHIR and openEHR systems—
crucial for breaking down silos and enabling true interoperability in digital healthcare.

What’s new?

• Greater flexibility
• Dynamic and simplified mapping creation & management via the new Mapping Store
• HIVEConnect is based on FHIR Connect –  a powerful, modular technology specifically
  developed for integrating FHIR in complex environments.
• Supports bidirectional mappings between FHIR, openEHR, and due to our preliminary work also OMOP

Why it matters:

FHIR enables fast data exchange. openEHR provides structured, long-term medical data. With this bridge, both can work together effectively.

Mappings for key elements of the German MII core dataset are already included.
