Which are the most important precision oncology knowledge bases and how can software tools access them? The HiGHmed Working Group Analytics and Use Case Oncology address this question in their recent publication in "Briefings in Bioinformatics".
In an extensive review, 65 knowledge bases are categorized along the diagnostic process in precision oncology and ranked by relevancy through a survey among practitioners. In addition, the authors provide an in-depth analysis of technical access options, data management challenges, and existing integrations into 26 cancer variant interpretation tools.
