MIE2025 in Glasgow has come to an end - an event for the international exchange on the digital future of healthcare.
Three intensive days full of impulses, perspectives and inspiring discussions lie behind us: From May 19 to 21, 2025, Medical Informatics Europe (MIE) took place in Glasgow under the motto “Intelligent Health Systems - From Technology to Data and Knowledge”. Representatives from the fields of medicine, informatics, data science and healthcare discussed how intelligent healthcare systems can be sustainably improved through the targeted use of technology, data and knowledge.
A central theme of the conference: research results alone are not enough - it is about bringing innovations into healthcare. It became clear that even if national healthcare systems such as the British NHS and the German system differ structurally, both countries face similar challenges when it comes to digitalization. This international exchange in particular provided valuable insights and points of contact.
