The meeting of the heads of the Medical Data Integration Centres (MeDICs) at the HiGHmed sites in Berlin took place today as a face-to-face meeting.
The agenda of the meeting included cooperation and communication between the MeDICs, broad consent and the site-specific FDPG (The German Portal for Medical Research Data)-driven monitoring of the MeDICs, which is to be expanded. The use of open source software in the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) was also discussed; a workshop on this will take place on 11 January 2024.
The panel emphasised the importance of face-to-face meetings and the added value of direct exchange and agreed to intensify the planning of face-to-face meetings again next year.
