For exactly half a year, since May 15, 2021, Prof. Dr. Björn Schreiweis has been Professor of Medical Informatics at the Institute of Medical Informatics and Statistics at Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel. The 35-year-old accepted the call to the W2 professorship, which was created as part of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII). His research focuses on inter-facility, electronic health and patient records, and reuse of routine clinical data for research and patient treatment through IT support. *"My motivation is to connect technological tools such as apps for smartphones, tablets or smartwatches with healthcare in such a way that they support all parties involved in their daily work.
