HiGHmed “Use Case Cardiology” Moving Forward: Central Study Is Now Registered with the German Clinical Trials Register (DRKS)

The trial "HiGHmed - Use Case Cardiology (HiGHmed-UCC) - Establishment of a registry of patients with chronic heart failure as part of the "HiGHmed-consortium"" is now officially registered with the German Clinical Trials Register (DRKS), and displayed on the public website. It will be submitted to the World Health Organisation (WHO) within the next update, and will then soon be searchable via its Meta-registry.

The project focuses on establishing an IT environment (MeDIC-Medical Data Integration Center) for standardized diagnostic assessment. Retrospective and prospective treatment data of patients with chronic heart failure will be systematically recorded. The aim is to identify patients who are at high risk of hospitalization due to worsening of chronic heart failure and/or who have a poor mortality prognosis.

With the registration in the DRKS, the requirements of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) for publication are now fulfilled. First enrolment of a patient in the study is planned for the end of 2018.
